There are no two ways around it, Annie is a sweet heart. Her dam Alcyona had a difficult miscarriage as a two-year old leading to her finally giving birth to this lovely doe in late November.  Being so off-cycle for our herd, we sold her to a very talented young lady in Oregon who is quickly making Alcyona into quite the star on the 4H circuit who since won big accolades in Oregon and is now having healthy babies on a more traditional spring schedule.  “Annie” looks just like her dad and it was nice to see her freshen with a capacious mammary system.  Unfortunately she is just not quite as together as our other two milking yearlings and being in an age group where we have 10 very promising animals and will need to get it down to just 2-3 by next year, she is sure to find a bright future elsewhere. She would make an excellent foundation doe for anyone interested in working with dairy, high production lines.  She appraised well with a final score of 85, all of the comments and categories are right about where we want to see them for a young doe who has good solid structure with lots of room to grow.
