We were determined to get one more specific breeding out of Aero before he left for his new home and we’re so glad that resulted in exactly what we wanted: a beautiful, white doe kid who is dairy, deep bodied, and wide throughout. She looks just like her 3/4 sister Yuna did as a kid and, given how lovely Yuna freshened, we hope she just keeps right on following in her wake. We are overall just so excited to see our Elena-line truly coming in to itself, with two big State Fair Breeder’s Trio wins, there is no denying that these lovely white ladies are more than just keepsakes from an old showmanship line. If all goes to plan, we will have our first ever “Mariah” dairy herd in 2020 with Evgenia as the key milking yearling (fingers are crossed!). As we all know, nothing in 2020 went to plan no matter how many fingers were crossed. Evgenia ended up not getting bred and, of course, there were no shows to have dairy herds. Plans are so 2019, but nevertheless we do hope that Evgenia will fill out Mariah’s dairy herd in 2021 along side her looking better every day sister Yuna.  Evgenia was one of the more devastating moments of 2021, she freshened beautifully, easily our favorite 2 year old, and then we lost her suddenly only a few weeks after her first show.
