Hatha as a dry yearling easily picked up dry leg at her first show out. Certainly she is a lovely general appearance doe, however, this was an “udder breeding,” so the best is yet to come. Her dam Dharma has become known for her beautiful, capacious mammary, and her sire Blade has been very consistent in throwing well-attached, pretty mammaries.

Dharma returned to us as a kid-back from one of Witch’s ultra-productive daughters Goldie in 2013. A more moderate-sized doe that excels in depth of body, she freshened with an incredible mammary system that had her winning Best Udder of Breeds as a first freshener in the highly competitive NW LaMancha show ring, as well as picking up a 3rd udder accommodation at the Redmond National Show. With that pretty, correct, and capacious udder, Dharma is the little goat that can!

With this breeding to Blade, we took that mammary system and blended it back to truly capitalize on consistent mammary and production “magic” line. In addition, with Tach behind him, Blade can also help to further lengthen and add a few inches to Dharma’s frame to balance out her body capacity and dairy strength.  Blade’s full genetic sister Carmilla was the 2015 ADGA National Reserve Best Udder, as well as 1st place/1st udder 5&6 year old (oh and 2015 Oregon and Washington State Fair BOB and BUOB).

We just love the general appearance on this doe and she freshened with a mammary that when viewed from the side is instantly identifiable as both a Blade daughter and a Dharma daughter. We are a bit disappointed that she didn’t get her dam’s incredible length of fore, but it is a smooth fore udder that likely will be less noticeably short as her body capacity deepens with age and her overall production increases with another lactation. Knowing that any doe in this age will be stuck in the shadow of Quivira, we made the hard decision to move Hatha into a performance home she will likely get to shine and meet her full potential. We look forward to watching from afar as she grows and matures.
