For the second year in a row, Bliss gave birth to a beautiful set of quad does early in our 2017 kidding season. One doe was immediately snatched up, but the other three stayed around. While we’re only keeping Joy, if we had all the room in the world, we’d probably be keeping all three of these lovely ladies. Each are long, tall, wide, dairy, and wedgy–not to mention have strikingly lovely chamoisse color.
Joy was a dry yearling in 2018 and just kept growing all year long being easily the tallest in the yearling pen. Like her paternal sister Quivira, she is indeed a very growthy, large framed doe who will likely take some time to fill out and mature. Now we just hope she freshens with an udder like Quivira!
We’ve only had a few ever freshen “like Quivira,” but Joy comes pretty close. Strong attachments all around and solid production for a first freshener, and she hasn’t gotten any shorter in any direction. Definitely needs to mature, solidify her general appearance, and deepen out to match her extreme height, but this is one very exciting young doe.
