Born in the winter, Kundalini was a fancy junior yearling who showed in senior kid, junior yearling, and dry yearling classes throughout 2018, winning most of her classes, although never picking up a rosette. She has so much going for her, yet this doe also doesn’t quite fit together, at least not yet. She is a long, level doe with an exceptional, flat-boned dairy frame, evidence of the same depth of rear barrel as her dam, and freshened with a very correct mammary overall. We are also glad to see that as a yearling she is producing 8-9 pounds consistently on each milk test with a butterfat hovering around 4%. She also has such an easy-going personality that almost all photos show her chewing her cud like a baseball player! With all that’s good about her, we’d like to see more smoothness of blending from neck into withers, more robustness of fore udder, and a bit more width of rear to balance the depth of the udder, but most of all, she needs to recover from an injury and regain strength in a rear pasturn. We will be keeping one of her daughters (one of only seven keeper doe kids), but in a year when we have no less 11 (eeks!) other exceptional, many equally genetically irreplaceable, dry and milking yearlings, we simply don’t have room or time to baby this sweet, very promising little lady along.
