For better or worse, we got a carbon copy of Ambrosia. Coming from a set of triplets, this is one leggy, dairy, and spotty chocolate doe just like her dam. We won’t be making the same mistake we made with high production Ambrosia, Amarula will not be bred to be a yearling milker, instead we will most likely have a big lanky dry yearling on our show string next year.  Well no show string in 2020, but she is indeed a big lanky yearling, who were eager to see freshen and after Astoria are quite excited to see her kids from Qamar. On the mammary front, Amarula met all our expectations as an Occult daughter with the exception of being a bit light on production–a truly lovely mammary with an exceptionally high rear udder arch and snug fore. Unfortunately, she really is like her dam and is going to be slow to mature, still looking like a gangly yearling that hasn’t stretched out or deepened. Given the high number of upcoming young does, we have made the hard decision to let this last Ambrosia daughter find new pastures, hopefully of plenty.
