One of the first kids born of 2017, Eliona is a doppleganger for this proud, proper line of white, wattled LaManchas. Like her dam, granddam, and great granddam before her, she is not only colored and adorned the same, but also has the trademark dairy strength of the figure skater line. We lost Eclipse to a completely random bladder obtrusion early in his first breeding season with us, so we had planned to keep a couple of his kids no matter what, that conviction was certainly helped with both Eliona and Seance being two of our prettiest kids in 2017. As a January kid, Eliona will be bred to be a milking yearling for 2018. 

Wow, we are super excited about this young doe. With near-perfect teat placement and great length of fore udder, we just have to say, “we did it!” Not only is she an improvement on those traits that have been difficult in this line, but Eliona from head to tail is a simply lovely doe with gorgeous dairy strength. Yearling milkers change a lot in their first year and she is just so pretty we couldn’t stop ourselves from taking pictures, of course, yearling milkers are also gawky, awkward creatures, so none of these photos do her justice. Losing only the District VII LaMancha Specialty milking yearling class, this little doe really is something special. She is a smaller framed doe and can be thus overlooked in the land of giants and we’d love to see more flatness of rump, but other than that she ticks off all the boxes for us–and being white with wattles is just cherries on top!
