This doe really takes after her sire Manhattan’s family being extremely dairy and with an impressive rear udder. As a younger milker she really struggled to balance her production with body capacity, making her look quite immature. In looking at photos of some of her paternal relatives as young does, it is clear that this line takes some time to mature. This corresponds exactly with our experience with Manhattan, a rangy buck we never thought would look grown up, and then the moment we sold him, he turned into a tall, long powerhouse finishing his championship back in his home state of Florida and appraising with a final score of 92 EEE. Like her dad, Quinquina is really starting to pull it together as a 4-year old now that her body capacity is balancing out her production. She may not be the fanciest doe in our herd, but her extra-sweet personality makes her Ardis’ favorite to work with on a day-to-day basis and that counts for a lot around here.

As life circumstances off of the farm change, we are making efforts to cut down the herd to an ever more manageable number. As part of this transition, we found a new good, forever home for Quinquina in fall 2018. We hated to see her go, but we’re excited for her opportunities in a loving new home.
