We are so excited about Carmilla, she combines Buffy’s incredible mammary system with the style of our other Tach daughters.  This is a line-breeding on Evian progeny that will likely add more size (especially height), as well as more “bloom” and globular shape to Carmilla’s beautifully attached BUIS mammary.  Calli was from a set of quads, but caught up quick and while not a huge doe, is a good size doe.

Calli freshened as a yearling milker in summer 2015 and is already demonstrating that she can follow in her dam’s beautiful mammary footsteps. Perhaps not quite as fancy as her dams, it is a  very correct udder and reminds us of a daughter from Chinook’s littermate brother Ceviche, Here Be Goats ARC Melisandre (https://sites.google.com/site/alderrosedairygoats/home/senior-does/melisandre). Meli is owned by Tessa Maguilli of Alder*Rose Dairy Goats and recently placed 3rd in the insanely large and competitive 2 year old class at the Redmond National Show. Between Meli’s good placing and Carmilla’s 1st place and Reserve Best Udder award, the Redmond National Show was full of good signs for the future of our lovely Calli-lily!

Sometimes it is the little things, there is so much to love about Callidora and while were used to not having pretty or perfectly-placed teats, Ardis’ really doesn’t like fat teats. Calli looks so much like her dam at her age that we know there are big things to come for this doe given another year or two. But in a year when we are making big tough decisions, a year or two of a simple, silly little trait like that bugging Ardis twice a day during chores is just barely enough to put a promising doe like this on the sales list. This is an incredibly consistent line and if ever you wanted to bring in a Barnowl animal, this is one heck of a doe to start with!
